| Descripció | Classified a National Heritage, this 18th century structure stands on Deak ter, one of the busiest squares and intersections in central Budapest. The Neo-classical building was completed in 1811, 12 years after construction started. It is a large church, majestic in its simplicity and the sparse décor, fitting for a Lutheran church. The pulpit is simple, yet it shows bas-reliefs on two sides, depicting the papal crest. The left side altar has a magnificent painting showing the Ascension of the Lord, surrounded by a Neo-classical temple-like altarpiece. To the right of it stands a small, gilded organ. A great organ is frequently used for concerts. The church has 30 bells, which ring every hour. During the day, the bells might play the weekly main Evangelical song.
