Deák téri evangélikus templom - BUDAPEST (KÖZÉP-MAGYARORSZÁG / HONGRIA CENTRAL)

(Referència: 1971)

Descripció Classified a National Heritage, this 18th century structure stands on Deak ter, one of the busiest squares and intersections in central Budapest. The Neo-classical building was completed in 1811, 12 years after construction started. It is a large church, majestic in its simplicity and the sparse décor, fitting for a Lutheran church. The pulpit is simple, yet it shows bas-reliefs on two sides, depicting the papal crest. The left side altar has a magnificent painting showing the Ascension of the Lord, surrounded by a Neo-classical temple-like altarpiece. To the right of it stands a small, gilded organ. A great organ is frequently used for concerts. The church has 30 bells, which ring every hour. During the day, the bells might play the weekly main Evangelical song. The church is open for services every Sunday at 9:00, 11:00 and 18:00 and is frequently used for weddings and other religious events. TripAdvisor (11-01-2019)
